Founder, Connect Outreach CIC
CEO, SM Global Music
Born in Nigeria and raised in Togo, Mark Peter OKEAGU began his ministry journey from a young age. His passion for worship and community service was nurtured in the Assemblies of God Church, where he actively served in the Children’s Choir and Youth Ministries. These early foundations shaped his love for music, service, and spiritual leadership.
In 1997, Mark founded Dynamic Christian Friends Ministry in Lomé, Togo, a vibrant Christian youth movement that played a major role in uniting believers across denominations. The group became known for hosting concerts, organising youth revivals, and participating in city-wide Christian gatherings that brought spiritual awakening, and unity to the Body of Christ in Togo and beyond.
He later became a member of the Young Business Christian Fellowship, continuing his dedication to Christian leadership, community development, and youth empowerment.
Over the years, Mark has served in and been spiritually impacted by several churches, including:
• Assemblies of God Church (where his ministry began)
• Loveworld Christ Embassy
• Living Faith Ministries (Winners Chapel)
• Streams of Joy International
Each of these ministries contributed significantly to his spiritual growth, leadership capacity, and worship calling. Today, he serves faithfully at ANFC Derby under the leadership of Apostle Patrick Dawkins, as a member of the Choir, Praise Team, and Stewarding Department, reflecting his deep commitment to grassroots ministry.
Mark has over a decade of experience working in health and social care, supporting individuals with complex needs across a variety of settings. His professional roles include work with:
Nottinghamshire NHS Trust,
Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust,
Worcestershire NHS Trust,
Healthcotes Group,
Priory Group,
Godfrey Care,
Newcross Healthcare, and
Cygnet Group.
He has supported individuals with mental health conditions, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, substance misuse, and eating disorders. Mark has worked in low secure units, supported accommodation, and specialist care services.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a critical role as a frontline worker in a COVID-19 step-down unit, providing direct care to recovering patients with professionalism and compassion.
With over 30 years of worship leadership, Mark has served as a Music Director in various churches and ministries, training choirs, mentoring worship leaders, and developing strong music departments across Africa and the United Kingdom.
As Anointed Mark, he is the founder of SM Global Music, a UK-based independent gospel label that mentors emerging artists, promotes faith-based music, and upholds excellence in Christian music production. His songs are available on all major digital streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Boomplay, Audiomack, and YouTube.
In 2024, Mark launched the East Midlands Gospel Music Festival, the flagship event of Connect Outreach CIC, the community interest company he founded. The organisation works through gospel music, outreach, education, and creative empowerment to address real community issues such as mental health, knife crime, youth disengagement, and family breakdown. The festival has grown into a powerful platform of hope, unity, and social transformation.
Mark is joyfully married to Ifesinachi OKEAGU, a qualified Mental Health Practitioner, entrepreneur, and business mentor. She is the co-founder and co-CEO of SM Global Music, where she plays a vital role in business strategy, artist mentorship, and overall operations. Together, they are raising a beautiful family while pursuing a shared mission to see communities restored, young people empowered, and families transformed through faith, creativity, and purposeful action.
Rooted in humility, shaped by experience, and driven by unwavering faith, Mark Peter OKEAGU continues to build bridges across cultures, generations, and nations. His life declares a simple but powerful truth: every voice matters, and every life has a purpose.
